My Journey in Product Design

Starting working on a blog it’s a good time to introduce myself and share a bit about my journey.

I've been in the industry for over a decade now. And my journey started even earlier in 2004  when my passion for technology led me to learn how to code and build my first website. This sparked my interest in design, which motivated me to pursue a master's degree in the field. My first full-time job taught me the importance of focusing on user experience, which has been my consistent focus ever since.
Over the years, I've worked with startups, scale-ups, and corporate. Despite different environments, my design philosophy stays the same — be the voice of the user. Also, I firmly believe that growing design awareness and building effective teams can bring a lot of value to both users and the business.
HOW I WORK

• I prioritize a user-centered approach to design and continuous discovery, putting the needs of the end users at the forefront of all design and product decisions.

• I am driven by a deep understanding of business goals and objectives, and I always seek to align design decisions with broader business strategies.

• Collaboration is crucial to my approach, and I work to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including engineers, product managers, marketers, and executives.

• I place a high value on leadership abilities and strive to inspire and motivate others while also driving projects forward and making tough decisions when necessary.

• Adaptability is key in my fast-paced work environment, and I am always ready to adjust my design approaches as needed to ensure successful outcomes.

• Continuous learning is a core value of mine, and I am committed to staying up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and techniques in order to continually improve my work and contribute to the success of my team and organization.

• Additionally, as a neurodivergent individual, I leverage my unique strengths and perspectives. This allows me to bring a fresh and innovative approach to problem-solving, thinking outside the box and offering alternative viewpoints for creative solutions. Embracing my neurodivergence as an asset, I enhance critical thinking, and pattern recognition, and uncover hidden opportunities.
Aside from being a hands-on designer, I'm also passionate about the strategic and visionary aspects of product design. I like working on the discovery of complex tasks when you need to connect all the dots together. I believe my strongest skills include problem-solving, empathy, and creativity, and I like to think of myself as being street-smart.

If you ask me to give one piece of advice, it would be — “ask more questions”.
My biggest work-related failure was getting laid off and being hired back the same day while on my way home. (It tells a lot about layoffs, doesn't it?)
